Doug Gurr, co-Founder &
Trustee
Doug permanently resides in South Africa
with his family. He worked for 18 years
in the City of London’s financial
district and is now engaged in property
development.
Doug not only acts as a
trustee but volunteers regularly as a
reader in the schools, provides a strong
link with all segments of the local
community and runs the football
tournaments. |

Dave Riordan,
co-Founder & Trustee
Dave moved to Franschhoek with his
family in 2006 after 22 years in banking
in his native USA & the UK. His stay
stretched to 2 ½ years after founding
The Kusasa Project and in 2008 he
returned to gainful employment in
London.
Dave remains active in the
management, motivation and fundraising
for The Kusasa Project and is a trustee
for The Kusasa Project UK. |

Nomhle Lucy Mbenenge, Trustee
Nomhle, born and educated in South
Africa, is currently Principal of
Dalubuhle School, which began operating
under the pine trees near Wemmershoek
Dam to serve the Xhosa-speaking children
of the area and now serves over 350
children from grades 1-7. |

Jacquie Berard Spiers, Educational
Specialist
Jacquie joins the team as of October
2010, relocating from the UK back to her
native South Africa.
She most recently
was the Head of French and Pastoral Care
at Yardley Court School in the UK and
has held a variety of educational &
administrative positions in schools in
the UK and South Africa providing an
exceptionally high level of educational
expertise to our programs. |

Sintu Quza, Field Director
Sintu joined The Kusasa Project late in 2008,
having previously worked in the hotel
industry with two Relais & Chateau
affiliated properties. He was Night
Auditor for Le Quartier Francais in
Franschhoek and also worked on the staff
of Kwandwe Game Reserve in the Eastern
Cape.
Sintu hails from the Eastern Cape
and is the son of a teacher. Sintu has a
variety of core tasks including schools
liaison, daily program coordinator and
community liaison. |
