How Can You Help?

The needs of the children we serve are considerable, and many basic needs go unmet. This provides ample opportunity to make a difference through financial support, donation of goods or services or donation of your time or expertise.

What Do We Need?

• Reading books & study aids (dictionaries, thesauruses, maps and encyclopaedias)
• Basic school supplies – pens, pencils, exercise books
• Personal toiletries – toothbrushes, tampons, deoderant
• Gym uniforms, sporting kit and equipment, shoes/football boots
• Black shoes & warm jackets/fleeces
• Transport (a very great need) for field trips, workshops and sporting meetings
• Training and employment of local persons to assist with and continue the programs.
• Funds for field trips - entry fees for museum, and participatory sporting events
• Food for after school programs
• Audiovisual equipment and classroom teaching aides, whiteboards, basic classroom equipment
• Teacher sponsorship (remedial, special needs and standard), training and support
• Scholarships and child sponsorship (uniforms, supplies, fees)
• Sponsorship of Overseas Student volunteers

The most urgently needed and highly valued gift you can give, is to VOLUNTEER to work in our programs.

• 4 volunteers giving just 1 hour a week will allow us to add a school to our reading program.
• 2 volunteers offering 2 hours once a month on a weekend morning will allow us to expand our sporting program.
• 3 local Teens giving 1 hour per week to tutor in math will allow us to boost basic maths skills in 15 children.
• 1 local business or organization offering 1-1/2 hours for a field trip can expand a child’s horizons and light a fire in a mind.
• 1 local business or organization volunteering to host a work experience for a day or week will provide invaluable knowledge and help build responsibility, curiosity and goals for the future.

1 Hour a Week Can Impact a Child’s Life
